Route Planning

Big Walk Fast Travel Routes

Plan the fastest Big Walk backtracking loop with the train, chairlift, tunnel network and map-room landmarks, plus a visual island route map.

Unlock first, optimize second. Fast travel is most useful after the five tower routes are open. Use this page as a return-route planner, not as a replacement for the puzzle pages that explain each unlock.

A fast cleanup route

  1. Start at the drawbridge and confirm the host save is current.
  2. Use the map room to mark the next puzzle or missing prize by coordinate.
  3. Take the train for the long horizontal leg; keep the runner's backpack empty for a key or prize.
  4. Use the chairlift for mountain and high-platform work instead of climbing from sea level.
  5. Use a yellow tunnel for the return leg when the surface route would cross the whole island again.
  6. Return to the agreed staging point before moving the next tower key.

The fastest route changes with the exact puzzle and patch. A clean landmark call—“blue station, north platform”—is more useful than “somewhere near the train”.

Host and team logistics

  • The host remains the save anchor; let the host arrive before closing a session.
  • Leave a spare radio or flare at every station used as a meeting point.
  • For a large party, assign one team to move and one team to keep the next puzzle ready.
  • Screenshot the map coordinate before taking a train or tunnel so a late joiner can follow it.
  • If a guest cannot reconnect, use the troubleshooting hub rather than abandoning the route.

What to mark on your map

For a practical completion layer, mark:

  • every tower console and key-cutting station;
  • the train station you use most often;
  • the chairlift base and top;
  • tunnel entrances and the black-tower return route;
  • the staging spot where purple or red prizes wait for cleanup.

MapGenie is a useful visual companion, but external markers can change. Verify a coordinate in your host's world before treating it as a permanent guide fact.
